In the case of a local grid like a SCS, wind turbines can be interesting for substituting part of the thermal production (energy generated by the diesel generators supplying the SCS). This will results in fuel savings but also indirect costs savings like motor oil, fuel and air filter, maintenance cost. However, this application needs particular and unavoidable technical precaution such as specific attention on the high voltage network integration and current fluctuations on the grid.
