The organizing committee of the Asmara GeoCongress 2011 (Oct 4-8), is pleased to invite participants of the congress to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations not later than July 31^st, 2011. The abstract should be in English and no more than 300 words excluding the title, author's details and keywords. Paper(s) should be sent by e-mail followed by hard copy (ies )

ASMARA GEOCONGRESS 2011

Asmara Geo Congress 2010, sponsored by Ministry of Energy and Mines and Eritrean Mining and Exploration Companies (EMEC) , was conducted beginning from 22 to 27^th of September, 2010 in Asmara, at Asmara Palace Hotel. In the opening ceremony the Director General of the Department of Mines, Mr. Alem Kibreab, made welcoming and introductory remarks to the audience on behalf of the Minister of Energy and Mines H.E. Ahmed Haj Ali. An opening address was followed by Mr. Mebrahtu Ekubazghi, Director of Mineral Resources Management. 

Nubian Resources Pty Ltd has been granted 2100 km² exploration and three new prospective licenses with the size of 100km² each  in the highly prospective north-western part of the country on July 23, 2010.
